Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
This book was born from impossible distance. When Stefanía's two sisters were diagnosed with cancer six months apart, she was thousands of miles away in Western Australia, unable to reach her Icelandic homeland. The grief was ocean-deep how do you say goodbye across the world? Without Trace emerged from that heartbreak. Raised as the youngest of nine siblings on a remote Icelandic farm, Stefanía found herself caught between two worlds: volcanic valleys of memory and sun-scorched Australian reality. Poetry became her bridge, transforming personal loss into universal truth a testament to how love transcends distance, how landscapes hold our stories, and how grief, when given voice, becomes light.

Our Story
Glimpses began as fleeting moments Stefanía couldn't let go of the scent of hay in an Icelandic summer, her father's boots on gravel, a sister's laugh silenced too soon. Raised on a remote farm in the east of Iceland, she carried these memories across the world when she moved to Australia, caught between two landscapes that shaped who she became.
First written in Icelandic in 2004, this collection has travelled through editions and years, translated by Stefanía herself into English. What started as private reflection became a tribute to childhood, to family, to those lost along the way. Each poem is a small window, a glimpse into a life lived between homelands, where memory and love remain, unshaken by distance or time.
